Phoebe "Ruby" Watt

PRESQUE ISLE - Phoebe "Ruby" Watt, 84, wife of the late Marvin Watt, went home to be with her Lord April 19, 2011, surrounded by her family at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Lerwick, New Brunswick, the daughter of Dudley and Nina (Barcley) Adams. Ruby was a longtime and active member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she served in the missionary guild, the choir, the nursery and several other ministries of the church. Ruby was a very caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Though her main focus was caring for her family, she never compromised her faith and was always ready to share in her special loving way. She and her husband owned and operated Living Word Bookstore, Main Street, Presque Isle, for many years. Ruby is survived by her son, Brian H. Watt of Presque Isle; three daughters, Gloria Nelson and her husband, Don, of Cape Neddick, Carla McCluskey and her husband, Gary, of Presque Isle and Marvia H. Watt of Houston; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristi, Kimberly, Bethany, Robbie and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Jazmyn, Faith and Dylan; a brother, Omar Adams of Florida; a brother-in-law, Bob Willette of Florida; a special niece, Linda Mastro of Portage; several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Marvin, she was predeceased by two great-grandsons, Ethan and Elliot; one brother and six sisters. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at Bethany Baptist Church with the Revs. James Ackerson and Kenneth Phelps officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
