Phyllis Kay Beadles

Phyllis Kay Beadles, 66, of Thomas, Okla., died March 6, 2010. She was born to Harold "Red" Covalt and Faye Highfill Covalt in Deming, N.M., March 15, 1943. She met her husband and best friend, Alvin Beadles, at Oklahoma State University, and they were married May 20, 1966. She lived her life to serve her husband, family, others and most of all, her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved children and bringing light into peoples' lives. Phyllis graduated from Woodward High School in 1961 and later earned a B.S. and an M.S. in business education, from Oklahoma State University. She dedicated her working life to the family's farming operation and teaching business and computer skills in various Oklahoma schools until retiring from education in 1996 from the Oklahoma Department of Career & Technology Education. In addition, she spent the last five years teaching computer/technology in Hugoton, Kan. She is survived by her husband, Alvin Beadles; son, Grant Beadles, of Chengdu, China, and his wife, Joy; son, Justin Beadles, of Nacogdoches, Texas, and his wife, Heather; grandchildren, Lyndon and Sybil Beadles; Jack, Hudson, Rex and Riley Beadles. She is also survived by her brother, Austin Covalt, and his wife, LaRue, of Russell, Kan.; her brother, Allen Covalt, and his wife, Gloria, of Woodward, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother and father. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Weatherford, Okla., where they were active members.
