Phyllis Maydain Conley

CONLEY, Phyllis Maydian, of Midlothian, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. She joins her husband, whom she had missed dearly, Claude Marion Conley; and her sister, Gletha Ross. Phyllis is survived by her children, Stephen Conley, Gregory Conley, Mark Conley (Vicky), Pam Conley Dawson, Brian Conley and Sandra Conley Fowler; grandchildren, Stephanie Conley Spencer, Melissa Schuler, Christina Point, Jennifer C. Fortner and Christopher Conley; and great-grandchildren, Sydney and Cooper Spencer, Steven and Zachary Newsome, Mackenzie and Madelynn Point, and Lilli, Aurora and Piper Fortner. Phyllis graduated from Lane High School in Charlottesville, Va. in 1944 and married the love of her life, Claude Conley, in 1945. She continued her education and graduated from University of Virginia School of Nursing in 1947. She was a member of the Alumni Association of UVA, Thomas Jefferson Society and had over 50 years of service with the University of Virginia. Phyllis and Claude settled in the Bon Air area of Richmond and raised their family and she worked until her retirement for Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital.
