Phyllis Evans Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2015.
Evans, Phyllis Bethany Sept 17, 1926 – July 30, 2015. Phyllis Evans passed away July 30, 2015 after a long illness. Phyllis was born in Winfield, Kansas and grew up in Russell, Kansas where she met her husband of 64 years. Phyllis was the pillar of the family who managed multiple moves following Bob's long career with Texaco. Most of all, Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and exemplified strength, generosity, and unconditional love to all of them. Phyllis is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Debbie Wilder (Fred), daughter Cindy Jochetz (Buz), son Greg Evans (Sally); grandchildren Emily Jochetz Dunlap (Philip), Lauren Wilder Reach (Jacob), Will Jochetz (Chelsey), Brian Wilder (fiancé Andrea Ramey), Rob Jochetz, and Parker Evans; and great-grandchildren Sam, Annalee, and Ruthie Dunlap. She is also survived by her brother Glenn Bethany (Karen), sister Darlene Willson (Keith), sister-in-law Marjorie Edwards (Frank), and sister-in-law Diana Knoles (Dick) and by many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Phyllis' longtime caregiver and angel, Cathy Josey, and to the loving staff at Sedro Trail Assisted Living who made the last 8 months of her life more pleasant and comfortable. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's ministry respite program, "Special Friends," at The Worship Place, 811 Sun City Blvd., Georgetown, TX 78633, where Phyllis volunteered for many years. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2015 at The Worship Place in Sun City. You may share a message or memory in the online memorial guestbook at www.RamseyFuneral.com.
