Phyllis Mae Hunt passed away peacefully at the Roberts Care Center on May 10, 2013. Phyllis turned 90 years "young" on Nov. 3, 2012. Her family and friends gathered together at that time for a celebration of "their exciting lives together."
ÊPhyllis was born in Syracuse, N.Y. She married Francis V. Hunt, a military man, and together they raised seven children. They settled in Middletown, N.Y., until Frank passed away in 1975. Phyllis then moved to St. Augustine and had lived here ever since.Ê She had worked as an LPN in nursing homes, at Panama Hatties" Package Store and as a beach toll taker. Phyllis was a member of the St. Augustine Women"s Bowling League. She enjoyed happy hour at Jacks BBQ, Dunes Cracker House and Panama Hatties" with her friends and family. Phyllis always had a smile for everyone. She was friendly and fun-loving woman.
ÊShe is survived by her daughter, Katherine Jane Helhoski of St. Augustine; four sons, Francis Vincent Hunt Jr. of Huntington Beach, Calif., Thomas James Hunt of St. Augustine, James Bernard Hunt of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Timothy Brian Hunt of St. Augustine; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. ÊHer husband, Francis, daughter, Patricia, and son, Kenneth, preceded her in death.
ÊAt Phyllis" request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Roberts Care Center, 4500 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, FL 32177.
