Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 19 to Sep. 20, 2006.
PHYLLIS CAROLINE MACDOUGALL It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of their dear and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's, Phyllis passed away with family at her bedside at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on September 18, 2006. Born in Halifax Nova Scotia, on April 24, 1922, Phyllis was one of six children. She was predeceased by her husband J W Graham (Bud) Macdougall. Phyllis will be forever loved and sadly missed by her many friends and family, including: her four sons, Graham (Donna), Alan (Winkie), Stuart (Christine), Drummond (Karen), her grandchildren, Leslie, Trevor, Jocelyn, Katie, Alison, Fraser, Graham, Harrison, her great-grandchildren, Cole, Avery, Nicholas, and her surviving siblings, Doshie, Betty and Allan. She was blessed with a compassionate heart working as a volunteer with her church and hospitals, especially the Rehabilitation Institute of Montreal. Her wonderful sense of humour lasted throughout her life and through the difficulties of living with Alzheimers. She could always bring a smile to someone's face. Her happiest times were spent at the "Cutest Little Cottage on the Shore" in Shediac Cape, New Brunswick. In memory of Phyllis, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada. A celebration of her life will take place in the chapel of the Oakview Funeral Home on Thursday, September 21 at 2 p.m. 56 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, Ontario. There will be a private interment for the family in Ottawa, Ontario.
