Phyllis Saladin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 14, 2024.
Phyllis Fae Saladin (nee Fox), aged 85, of East Amherst, NY, passed into eternal rest on June 9, 2024. Born on August 6, 1938, in Buffalo, NY, she was the cherished wife of Daniel Saladin and a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, great grandmother and friend.

Phyllis was a woman of grace and dedication, holding her family as the centerpiece of her life. Her two children, Karen (James) Evarts and Kevin Daniel (Sherry Jasper), whom she shared with her former husband Wilburn (Sonny) Daniel, were a testament to her nurturing and loving nature. Her marriage to Daniel Saladin expanded her family further, uniting two families into a larger, loving household.

Her love and joy were evident in her relationship with her grandchildren: Jamie (Ian) Bruckerl, Krystina Daniel, Karri Daniel, and Kevin Daniel and Leanna Evarts. Their memories will never fade.

Daniel's four children, Sherri Ann (Tommie) Neidermeier, Daniel Saladin Jr. (Melissa). Michelle (Michael) Risacher and and Jason Saladin. Each and every one of them held a special place in her heart. Her grandchildren Mathew Neidermeir, and several others from out of town also meant the world to her.

Phyllis's professional journey at JC Penney was marked by a steadfast ascent from part-time holiday staff to a respected Senior Merchandiser. Her acumen in product selection and display design was unparalleled, earning her the admiration and friendship of many, notably her colleagues Annie and Kathy.

Her personal passions included gardening, with a particular fondness for yellow roses, and the art of miniature dollhouse creation, a craft she honed in the 1970s. Her hobbies also extended to reading and various needlecrafts, from sewing to cross-stitching, often featuring her beloved motifs of fairies and flowers.

A member of both Baptist and Methodist congregations in Buffalo and North Tonawanda, Phyllis found strength and fellowship in her faith, which she practiced with conviction and humility.

Phyllis fought a valiant battle against cancer, embodying resilience and courage until the end. Her departure was not due to this affliction but rather a testament to her enduring spirit.

In accordance with her wishes, a traditional funeral service will not be held. Phyllis's life will instead be celebrated in an upcoming gathering, details of which will be shared with those she held dear.

In remembrance of Phyllis Fae Saladin, we honor a life lived with love, creativity, and unwavering faith. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all. May she rest in peace.

Aunt Phyllis will be so missed. I have much to thank you for. You taught me a lot about life at a young age. You were an extraordinary role model to me. Some of my most precious memories were sitting at your grand piano playing some of your favorite songs for you, while you introduced me to many extraordinary classical musicians. Thank you for sharing your love of the arts and your love of. people with me.
