Schmitz, Phyllis Mae Age 73, of Monticello, died Sunday Dec. 25, 2005 at St. Benedict's Senior Community of St. Cloud. Phyllis was born Oct. 19, 1932 in Hoffman, MN to Ed and Hazel (Kloos) Reuss. She worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, J. L. Schmitz and Sons Excavating. She and her husband John "Jack" were married for 51 years prior to his death in 2004. Her hobbies included bowling, square dancing and crocheting. Phyllis loved her family and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She always enjoyed hearing a good joke. Phyllis was very kind and caring, and always made everyone feel special. She is survived by children, Cindy (David) Fremling of Benson, MN, Pam Orrock of Monticello, Pete (Robin) Schmitz of Monticello, Sherry (Sherman) Long of Hoffman, MN, Alan (Shelly) Schmitz of Monticello; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Newberger of Mpls. She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Schmitz; parents, Ed and Hazel Reuss; sisters, Dora Pachalski and Lois Keep; brother, Vernon Reuss; and grandchild Ciara Orrock. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 30, 2005 at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church of Big Lake. Interment Parish Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello. Further visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Friday.
