Pierina BLOTSKY Obituary

May 30, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the sudden passing on May 30, 2018 of Pierina Blotsky. She was surrounded by her loving family as her life on earth ended peacefully at the age of 59 years old. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and had a great attitude throughout which encouraged many. Pierina was a special soul, kind, brave, generous, loving and funny. Her happiness stemmed from putting the needs of others before her own. We are all better for having shared time and love with her. She loved travelling the world with Gord, hosting family and friends in her home and spending many special moments with her sons. Pierina leaves behind her beloved husband Gord of thirty-nine years, her two cherished sons Nicholas (Diandra), and Phillip (Alissa). She also leaves behind her sister Sally (Raymond) and her brother-in-law James (Vera). She was preceded by death by her parents Giuseppe and Grazia Lanza, her in-laws Constantine and Jeannette Blotsky and her sister Josie. She will be remembered by many other family members and close friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church (10 Prestwick Drive S.E., Calgary AB) on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire donations in memory of Pierina will be gratefully accepted towards the Tom Baker Cancer Center, 1331 29 ST NW Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N2, https://albertacancer.ca/ tom-baker-cancer-centre. We would like to say thank you to Dr. Marc Webster and especially Dr. Satvir (Sunny) Lal and their staff who comforted her in the last four months. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Pierina Blotsky, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
