It is with profound sadness that we announce the premature death of Pierre. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of the past 27 years, Haiyu; and their daughter, Louise (Nils); his children, Anouk, Magali (Louis- Philippe), and Maxime (Marie-Michèle); his grandchildren, Eva, Rachel, Christophe, Charles-Antoine, Lucas, Maya, Marguerite and Corinne; and his partner for the first 21 years of his married life, Marthe (Xavier). It was only a few days ago that Pierre could be seen on Alcazar, his large white horse, on one of his routine rides through the villages of Napierville and L'Acadie. Pierre left us as suddenly as he did serenely, after returning from his horseback ride on June 25, 2017. Pierre was born in Montréal on April 8, 1944. A graduate of McGill University, he became a brilliant lawyer and an exceptional litigator; he was passionate, sharply intelligent, and a man of utmost integrity. His important involvement in the Young Bar, Bars of Montréal and Québec, as well as the Canadian Bar Association, demonstrated his legendary generosity and indefatigable desire to promote the legal profession and defend Justice with a capital « J ». In 2005, Pierre was awarded the Merit of the Bar of Montréal for his exceptional contributions. Just as a clan chief, Pierre was always so proud of his family and friends, whether it be in his role of father, grandfather (or « Grand-Pierre », as his grandchildren called him), mentor, boss, associate, colleague, or advisor. Pierre, we will love you forever. We will always love and remember your smile, passion, courage, « bon vivant » style, happiness, confidence, simplicity, generosity, pride, and your readiness to listen and share advice. We will always keep the moments of happiness we shared with you close to our hearts. We will always find comfort in your writings and the countless pictures you took. Thank you for leaving us with a lifetime of memories.
