Polly Weigel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 12, 2007.
Polly Anna Weigel 1949 ~ 2007 Our dear mother Polly Anna Weigel, age 58, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away at home on Dec. 8, 2007.She was born Polly Anna Dietz in Lake Charles, LA. on July 18, 1949 to Harry W. and Polly Anna Dietz. Her death was the result of a head injury occurring on the same day she passed away. She went quietly in her sleep. On April 19, 1968, She married Kenneth Van Moss, SR. in Louisiana and they had three children, they later divorced. On Aug. 7, 1982, she married Ronald Mayne Weigel in Taylorsville, UT. and they had one child. They also later divorced. She is preceded in death by her father, Harry W. Dietz. She had a very special relationship with her three grandchildren, Alexa, Ashley, and William Stach. They miss "mimi" terribly. Two other little ones dear to her heart were Asia and Lukas Vasso, her great niece and nephew. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Polly Anna Dietz, of Taylorsville, UT; her sisters: Laura Lynn Vasso (John Vasso) of Taylorsville, UT; and Harriett Dietz, of San Francisco, CA; her children, Kenneth Van Moss, JR. of Silver Springs, MD; Danielle Moss of Houston, TX; Esther Stach (Bradley Stach) of Riverton, UT; and Brooke Weigel of Salt Lake City, Ut. She is also survived by nephews John Paul, Cade, and Michael Vasso, and by her niece, Andrea Vasso. Mom was a very faithful Christian, She taught her children and family so much about the Bible, and about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She accepted Christ as her savior many years ago, and we are comforted by knowing she awoke in his arms. Mom was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA; she missed her home and hoped to return one day. She worked as a secretary for many years prior to her retirement. Her favorite activities were watching true crime shows and reading about true crime stories. She was a Baptist for most of her life, and reading the Bible and talking about her faith were very important to her. We don't know how we will cope without her, she was a wonderful presence in our lives. We love you, mom. Services will be held on Friday, December 14, at 1 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkwy (10600 So.) with the viewing from noon until 1 p.m.
