Presli Peterson Obituary
Sioux Falls, SD - Presli Peterson, 15, passed away unexpectedly at Avera Hospital surrounded by her family on July 26, 2019.
Visitation will take place at Peace Lutheran Church, 5509 W 41st Street, on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 3:00- 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church.
The family encourages you to come as you are and dress casual. We are truly blessed to have had Presli in our lives for 15 wonderful years. She will live on forever in the hearts of her friends and family.
She will be dearly missed by her parents Paige and Roy; brother Reed (Becky); Sister Peri; grandparents Roland and Joanne Pohlman; uncle Rik (Andrea) Pohlman; Aunt Patti LaSourd; uncle Pat LaSourd; uncle Reynold (Kim) Peterson; cousins Ann Marie, Lincoln, Riley, Courtney, Caitlyn (Kyle) and Chloe; and her 4-legged friends Mackie, Missy, Princess, Meatball and Rita.

Geesh, it's been 1 year, 6 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days since you've left us pretzel, and not a day goes by that I don't think of you and your family. I miss your gorgeous face and smile so much.

So this is just a reminder that Presli is still missed and thought of constantly. I think about her all the time. I regret not getting close to her after middle school. She was an amazing girl and I know she had a loving family. IDK if the Petersons are gonna be able to see this soon but at least I will know it is here. I miss you girly.

Presli, or as many of us at New Technology High School called her, Pretzel was hands down one of the nicest, hard working people I have ever met in my life. I looked up to her and always wondered how someone can be so smart and down-to-earth. I wouldn't have made it through some of my classes without her positivity and encouragement. I will really miss her kind smile and corny jokes. Prayers to her and her family & friends.

This is the message,
Presli was a light/gift to this world. It pains me to think that she is gone and it pains me to think of your family's loss. The way I coped was by drawing this picture many mornings I would walk into the Cafe and bug Peri and Presli (usually calling her parsley). That sister bond was so pure and honestly made me smile! I may not have known her personally, but how much I knew Peri her sister wasn't short of an amazing young woman taken from this world too soon. My deepest condolences. Sincerely Eihilín

We remember Presli as such a sweet, fun girl. Taetum remembers being in class with her and getting to know her in elementary and describes Presli as being so nice. I enjoyed watching Presli play at recess in elementary school and watching her sing in middle school chorus. I also enjoyed teaching Peri in fifth grade and getting to know Paige at Pettigrew as we worked together with students. To all the family and friends of Presli, I am so very sorry. I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

It was my great privilege to be one of Presli's 7th grade teachers at Memorial Middle School during the 2016-17 school year. I first got acquainted with Presli's mom, Paige, through R.F. Pettigrew several years earlier. Presli was an amazingly talented, gracious, & truly LOVELY young lady! I always picture her with a smile on her face. Being in Presli's presence was always a pleasure because she exhibited kindness to all around her. And, while she demonstrated excellence in her school work, including speaking presentations, she had this understated sense of self. She never came across as boastful, but instead, accepted compliments so graciously. This is something I will never forget about Presli. I will always also associate Presli with the word LOVELY. She was, indeed, simply LOVELY! I've included a collage of a few of the photos I took of Presli during 7th grade. Thank you, Petersen family, for sharing your precious Presli with the Pathfinder Team at Memorial. We were so blessed to have been impacted by her ptesence & she will not be forgotten! My heart breaks for the tremendous loss you are enduring. You will be in my prayers.

My son was a fellow classmate of Presli's at New Tech. Although they were not close, when I told him of her passing, he was saddened. He talked of how she was "the nicest person" and "always smiling". My heart hurts for your family. Sending many prayers your way.

Me and presli weren't the closest.. but she always made sure I was smiling, always knocked me back on track during school. She gave really good hugs and was always so happy. We were in a group together and I just remember her reminding me that we can do this.. no matter how much we struggled we can do this. She was always so cheerful, so full of hope.

I could tell when I first met Presli that she was a kind and genuine person. Even though we didnt know each other well, I was crushed when I heard the news. She was such a beautiful soul and she will be missed by everyone at New Tech.
