Priscilla Gallogly Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 17 to Jan. 22, 2024.
Priscilla Gallogly, 83, departed this world on 12-19-2023 at Pinelake Nursing Facility.

Priscilla was born November 1st, 1940, to the late Gordon Smith and Esther Smith.

Priscilla was raised in Mt Gilead, Ohio; she attended The Ohio State University and received an associate degree and a fever for college football. She loved puzzles and could be found mentally grappling with Sunday's crossword puzzle at the kitchen table. Priscilla became a realtor in the '90s, loved playing golf, traveling with her husband Myron Gallogly (1940-2021), and singing in the choir in the local Methodist Church. She was a fantastic mother; most would describe her as a lady, always proper and dignified. She raised us children with strength and dignity.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Bruce, and her husband, Myron Gallogly. Left to cherish the memories include her children, Brian Bruce, Marty (Anne) Bruce, Andrea (Kurt) Campbell, and Heather (Stephen) Ryan; step-children Kelly (Rowdy) Joseph, Tally (Kathy) Gallogly, Dennis (Susan) Gallogly: twenty Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.

The only silver lining to Alzheimer's is the diseases' slow progression. It offered our family time to process her death and reflect on her life. We were a loud family growing up, and although you would think we had tremendous milestone memories to remind us of her, we all agreed the small, almost unrecognizable moments hold the most treasure to remind us of her. Words of wisdom & support for when things weren't going our way, or the pride that beamed from her when we were victorious. Her continuous burning of the Thanksgiving rolls or her desire to chop down the giant Christmas tree will forever hold memories to cherish and smile upon. She maintained composure for skinned knees & crashed cars and offered open arms when hugs were needed. We children have, in some way or another, received some trait of hers here or there. For every unappreciated toll of her parenting us, we have received the greatest gifts of her memories. ~ We are all blessed to have had her as a mother. Thank you, Lord, and take care of our beautiful mother.
