Priscilla Hughes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 21, 2015.
Priscilla W. "Winnie" Hughes formerly of Hanover, 86, was taken home by The LORD early Wednesday morning at Southwood Nursing Home in Norwell after a recent illness. She was a resident of Hanover since 1968. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Logue of Marshfield. She and her 12 siblings grew up and attended Marshfield schools. She was the wife of the late, Donald L. Hughes, of Hanover. Winnie was a devout Christian her entire life. She was a member of the Rockland First Baptist Church and later attended the Duxbury First Baptist Church. She was a member of both church choirs and performed solos on special occasions. She sang Ó Holy Night' during many Christmas Eve services. She was a cheerful giver and was charitable with both love and money. Coming from a big family, Winnie would love to cook big dinners for both family and friends. GOD and family was everything to her to the very end. When she was in good health, she would frequently play BINGO and made many friends. She was able to travel to England with her beloved Donald before his passing in 1991. She loved going out to lunch with friends and family until recently. Scallops were her favorite. She is survived by her two sons and a daughter, Phillip H. Sprague of Kingston, Thomas L. Hughes II of Duxbury, and Priscilla E. McCue of Waldoboro Maine. Winnie was the proud Grandmother of Jennifer Sprague, Michael Sprague, Melissa McCue, Matthew McCue, Heather McCue, Bradford Hughes, and Mitchell Hughes. She also leaves her close friend and confidant, Kerry E. Hughes, of Duxbury, and numerous Nieces and Nephews. The Hughes family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Winnie's life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Saturday January 24, 2015 from 9:00-10:30 AM. A Funeral Home Service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 following visitation. Burial will follow in the Canton Corner Cemetery in Canton.
