Priscilla D. McGarrah

Priscilla D. McGarrah 90 of Colcord , OK passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. Mrs. McGarrah was born January 7, 1924 in Wheeler, AR; she was the daughter of Walter and Ruth Curry. Priscilla was the widow of the late Jesse L. McGarrah; whom she married on July 3, 1941 in Siloam Springs. After receiving her teaching degree, Priscilla taught at Northside Elementary in Siloam Springs for 18 years and was a volunteer teacher for 9 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs, AR , a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, the Benton County Retired Teachers Association, NWA Gem and Mineral Society. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors Include: Daughter Phyllis N. Thurman Colcord, OK Son Larry N. McGarrah & wife Connie Colcord, OK 3 Grandchildren Jeffrey McGarrah & wife Krista Colcord, OK Samuel McGarrah & wife Janet Wyndotte, OK Philip Thurman & wife Heather Stilwell, OK 7 Great Grandchildren Sister Freda Farnsworth Independence, MO Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, husband , a sister Gloria Curry amd a brother Lloyd Curry. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 5pm – 8pm The service will be held at the Backstrom – Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 10:00 am. Pastor Gordon Topping and Rev. Breck Castleman will officiate the service. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom – Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR .
