I'm so very saddened by this news. But, I look back with pleasure on the grand opportunity I had to know Quentin Mease. I was the HCHD Board secretary for many years and worked closely with this wonderful gentleman and gentle man. I learned more from him than anyone in my life about how to calmly go about bringing opposing people and ideas together; how to put aside personal feelings in order to get things done that needed doing; how to bring about action that would make life better for people who needed assistance. May he rest in the arms of the Lord now that he has completed a life-long job well done.

It has been my pleasure to be associated with Quentin Mease for many years on the Board of Directors of Texas Medical Center. In addition he was a long time and faithful member of the TMC Building and Lands Committee of which I am Chairman. He attended our last meeting which was only a few days prior to his death. He was a man who made positive contributions to our city.

To The Family of Mr. Quentin Mease:
Dear Barbara A. Ransom and Grandson Marcus,
You are in my prayers on the loss of a great man, inspiration and leader. Mr. Mease not only knew the community, but he knew its needs. He knew how to get people to work for the community and for that and many other reasons he will always be well regarded.
I would like to share with you these words of wisdom: Come unto me, ye who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28

Mr. Mease was a kind and gentle man who loved serving others. I had the chance to work with him to raise money for scholarships through the Young Black Acheivers (YMCA). His encouragement and gentleness remain a source of joy that I will always remember. to the family may God give you peace and strength in the days ahead.
Blessings,
