Boston, MA - R. Craig Wilkins, age 46, of Boston, Mass. and Warren, Vermont, suffered a heart attack and passed away on July 19, 2018 while playing golf in Cambridge, MA. Craig was born in Cambridge to parents Terry and Richard, and grew up in North Andover. He graduated from North Andover High School, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Boston University.

Craig began working at Akamai in 1999, where he had a series of leadership positions and was recently promoted to Senior Director within the Enterprise Division.

He met his beloved wife, Lydia (Holden) in 2004 while skiing at Sugarbush in Vermont. As Craig would recount the story, upon meeting him, Lydia immediately gave him a (what was for her an uncharacteristic) hug. It was the first of many hugs over the course of seemingly endless adventures they enjoyed together.

Craig and Lydia were married in 2007 at the Soggy Dollar on Jost Van Dyke. He was a loving husband and had a very special and supportive relationship with Lydia. He encouraged her to join along side him to become a private pilot, obtain a Coast Guard captain's license, and to become an avid golfer. Craig always wanted Lydia to be beside him or in front of him, and encouraged her to be her best.

Craig enjoyed sailing, flying his plane, fishing, golfing, mountain biking, snowmobiling, skiing, and brewing beer, and was infamous for his "Do It All Weekends" that combined several of these activities. Craig and Lydia shared their many adventures with their Labrador, Abby.

One of Craig and Lydia's most infamous adventures was a 2009-2010 sailing trip to the Caribbean. Craig was also known for buying Lydia unusual presents such as a snow blower or a log splitter.

Many colleagues, family and friends were also blessed by Craig's enthusiasm and encouragement. He shared his humor and passion for living life to the fullest with all who crossed his path.

In addition to his wife Lydia, survivors include Craig's mother, Terry Wilkins; father, Richard Wilkins; sister, Jennifer Wilkins; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Craig's life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 29 at the Sugarbush Golf Course in Warren, Vermont. Family, colleagues, and friends are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to Pilots N Paws (at www.pilotsnpaws.org).
