Keen fisherman Mr Robert
Lilliman (82), a resident
of Clipstone Lodge Care
Home, Clipstone, formerly
of Shireoaks Court, Mansfield,
was cremated at Mansfield
after a service at the
crematorium chapel.
Born at Mansfield Woodhouse
and educated at Mansfield,
Mr Lilliman was a
life-long local resident. Completing
his National Service
in the Army, he then worked
at various collieries, mainly
Rufford, as a miner, spending
the last 15 years in the control
room until he retired due to ill health in 1978.
A talented footballer in his younger days, and then a
very keen fisherman, Mr Lilliman was a member of piscatorials
and for many years fished in Ireland. Owning a
caravan at Trusthorpe for a number of years, he spent all
his spare time there until ill health prevented it.
Mr Lilliman, who died at Clipstone Lodge Care Home,
leaves his wife, Mrs Betty Lilliman, sons Robert and David,
daughter Susan, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his son, Colin.
Mourners were Mrs B. Lilliman, Mr and Mrs R. Lilliman,

D. Simpson, Mr B. Lilliman, Miss K. Lilliman and Mr
T. Shetliffe, Miss L. Lilliman and Mr P. Dunsford, Miss
Rebecca Lilliman, Miss Rachell Lilliman, Mr M. Simpson
and Miss H. Pattison, Mr and Mrs L. Taylor; Mrs F.
Pinder (representing Mr D. Pinder); Mr and Mrs N. Pinder
(representing Mr and Mrs C. Beesley and Mr and Mrs B.
Maupin); Mr M. Simpson (representing Mrs S. Simpson),
Mr D. Morgan, Mr and Mrs C. Asher; Mrs G. Leivers (representing
Mr K. Hodson), Mr S. Asher, Mrs J. Asher, Miss
C. Asher, Mr and Mrs C. Barker, Mr J. Wright, Mr and Mrs
C. Cawar, Mr and Mrs S. Green, Ms S. Hinds, Mr P. Davis,
Mr P. Divito, Mr M. Brown.
Many other mourners were unable to attend due to extreme
adverse weather conditions.
Floral tributes were from wife, Betty; children; sisters.
Donations were received in lieu of flowers.
The service was conducted by the Rev J. Pulman, and
arrangements were by Co-operative Funeralcare
