Matesas--

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege to meet Matt a couple of times and he reminded me of Sunny, always smiling and happy to do anything for you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear Matesas,

You've spent most of your lives looking after and taking care of Matt- now it's his turn to watch over you. He's in a good place, he's happy, and he will always be with you. God bless and take care.

Matesa Family -

Times are tough right now, but many, many blessed memories will always be with you from the smiles that Matt brought us. Be there for each other (and I'm here for you as well) and the best memories will be kept forever.

Peace and Love -

I was so sorry to hear about the loss in your family. I only met Matt a few times, but could tell that he loved his family and was a great guy.

I never got to meet Matt, but I feel like I knew him because of how Sunny would talk of him and how she would smile when she was thinking of him. To have a family like yours, he was truly blessed. I am sorry for your loss, but know that heaven has gained an angel. "The pain we feel when someone leaves our lives is in direct proportion to the joy they gave us while with us." My love and prayers to you all, Elsa

I was never lucky enough to meet Matt. I was, however, lucky enough to be friends with his sister, who thought the world of him. If Sunny is any indication of what kind of person Matt was, then he must have been a wonderful blessing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. Please know that at the 2003 Special Olympics, in Queens, my Aunt (an athlete) and myself will wear ribbon in honor of Matt.

ALLY AND FAMILY,

I ONCE READ A PEOM THAT SAID "SPECIAL" CHILDREN, WERE GODS ANGELS, SENT TO EARTH TO TEACH OTHERS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND TOLERANCE. BUT ONLY FOR AWHILE, AND THEN, LIKE GODS OWN SON, ONCE THEIR TEACHING IS DONE, THEY ARE CALLED HOME.

I KNOW NOTHING CAN TAKE AWAY THE PAIN, BUT KNOW THAT OTHERS SHARE IT WITH YOU.

Dear Matesa Family,

Please know that we will miss Matt. We know we'll never be able to hear Phil Collins without thinking of him. We won't be able to play Phil at the October dance at St. Bernadette's in Monroeville, but we will be playing it at the November dance at St. Maurice's in Forest Hills. And at the Saturday Afternoon Bowling Banquet next year.

Sunny and Family,

I am so sorry for the loss of Matt. I know nothing makes sense right now, and may never but just know that you have friends and family to help and encourage through this trying time. I first handedly know how close your family is and to suffer such a loss is terrible. I am so sorry this had to of happened. Please know I am here and if there is anything at all I can do, please call me!

PS, if there was not a bowling team in heaven, I am sure there is now.

I love you all!
