Rachel A. Hough
Wantage - Rachel A. Hough (77) of Wantage died June 6th at Newton Medical Center after a short illness.
Born and raised in Newton, Mrs. Hough was a resident of Wantage since 1961. She worked for the former Food Town grocery store in Sussex for many years as a cashier and also the scanning coordinator prior to her retirement. In her early years, she was employed as a teacher's aide with the Sussex-Wantage School District.
The daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret (Coddington) Jackson, she is also predeceased by her brother George Jackson and her sister Beverly Kays.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, William D. Hough Jr of Wantage and her two children Scott Hough and his wife, Beth-Ann, of Frankford Township and Michelle Wohlleber and her husband, John, of Hampton Township, two sisters Debra Havens of Fredon Township and Brenda Hough of Sussex along with her brother Alfred Jackson of Sussex.
Aside from her unconditional love for her family, her greatest pride and enjoyment came from her six grandchildren (Jennifer, Brandon, Bradley, Kindra, Emily, and Trista) and her great-grandson (Ryler). Rachel was also known for her love of puzzles and word search books.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 10th, at 11 am at the Frankford Plains Cemetery located at 100 Plains Road, Augusta, NJ 07822.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sussex-Wantage Fire Department located at 25 Loomis Avenue, Sussex, NJ 07461 or to the Sussex County Milkmakers c/o Nora Swanson, 1 The Trail S., Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
