Rachel Rene’ OutLar was born on May 12, 1984, in Merrillville, Indiana to Thomas and Lydia Outlar. Rachel was known as “Rach” amongst her family and the only girl amongst her four brothers.
Developing a love for God at an early age, christened on July 1, 1984, Rachel joined First A.M.E. Church on June 7, 1992. She loved taking part in the activities of the church. As a youngster, Rachel was a member of the children’s choir, Choristers, FAME Choir, YPD, Youth Lay, Youth Usher, Alcolyst, Junior Courtesy Guild and Sunday School. Rachel was very gifted woman of many talents.
She attended Elementary School at Blessed Sacrament, High School at Andrean and Roosevelt graduating in 2002.
Rachel attended Vincennes University in Vincennes, IN., majoring in Mortuary Science, she also attended Indiana University Northwest and Merrillville Beauty College.
Rachel had various jobs: McDonalds, Meijers, Ponderosa, Tender Loving Care Day Care, Gary Community School System (Cook), Merrillville Schools System (Substitute Teacher), Westville Correctional Facility and her last employer, Lake County Jail (Correctional Officer).
In her leisure time she enjoyed going to diner with family following church service.
On Monday, November 14, 2022, Rachel departed this world in the love of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents: Arthur and Ruby Worthington, Samuel, and Ollie Outlar; daughter, Kaden Washington; special aunt, Laura Worthington-Jolly and Sylvia Worthington-Butler.
Rachel leaves to cherish her memories eight children: Kyler 17, Katie, 14 Landon 13, Lacy 11, Konner 8, Kennedy 7, Lauren 4, and Khloe Bella 2; mother, Lydia; father, Thomas; four brothers: Thomas (Trina) Outlar, Timothy Outlar, Kevin (Ashley) Outlar, Karl Outlar: Godfather, Earl Simmington, Godmother, Carlotta Holmes, God sisters: Caronda Hughes and Blaine Thomas; God brothers: Ronald Gholson and Larry Lewis; Uncle, Dr. Arthur (Lois) Worthington; special friends: Jodie Barham, Robert Collins Kaija Thomas, Latrina White and a host of cousins, friends Church family who loved her dearly. She was a devoted mother, daughter and sister.

I just wanted to send my heartfelt.Condolences to Rachel's family I remember her when she worked at meijer's and when she worked at McDonald's you never forget the kind workers she worked with a smile and treated her customers right they say the Good die young she was a good person and I was a loyal customer that I'm sure if she was here she would recognize me fly the highest Rachel I'm a voucher for you as a job well done and God loved you the best !!!!!!

Rachael & I worked together at the Day Care Center, sweet spirit , sweet personality, didn't was ay much but when she did EVERYONE listened, we rode together, talked on the phone, and when I seen she passed on really got to me, take your rest Rachael see u on the other side, from your former co-worker Mama Worthington for you and your grandbabies.
