GREENSBORO — Radie Mae Cook, 72 of Greensboro, NC went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2012.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mae was born in McLeansville, NC to the late John and Leona Clubb. She was the best wife, mother, mother-in-law, nannie, sister, friend and advisor anyone could ever ask for. It only took meeting her to feel immediately that you were loved, and to love her. Our family is like a patch work quilt and she was the thread that held the quilt together. There's no way to capture words to describe just how amazing she was.
She prayed daily for her family, friends and people she never met. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. Her favorite past times were being surrounded by her family, reading her bible, working with her flowers, going camping and listening to Elvis.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandson, Easton Cole Brown. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, James Riley Cook, daughter Joan Brown, sons; Mike Brown (Sherell) Jerry Brown (Brenda), Jim Cook (Sue), Jody Cook (Terri), Ronnie Cook (Laura), and Randy Cook; a very special son-in-law Doug Barnes; sisters Bobbe Whitaker and Gloria Brewer; brothers Roy Fields and Dar-rell Fields; grandchildren Amy Anthony (Zane), Doug Barnes (Shanta), Brandy Harris, Justin Brown (Ashley), Jessica Rierson (Charlie), Kelly Cook, Jordon Brown, Tyler Cook, and Matt Miller; great grandchildren Dillon & Haley Harville, Madison & August Barnes, Bobby & Brooke Anthony and Jacob Harris.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

We are so sorry for your loss. Heaven couldn't welcome a sweeter woman. We have known Mae for many years and will never forget that beautiful smile she always had. I know you will miss her, and nothing will ever take her place in your lives. Just lean on the memories and know she is out of all her pain. GOD bless you all and we love you.

If you knew Mae you loved her. Her smile and kindness would warm up any place she was at. Even when she was so sick she smiled when you walked into the room and told you she loved you. My hearts and prayers are with all of the family. She will be missed so much but we know today she is rejoicing and hurting no more.

To all of Mae's family my heart goes out to each one of you. I just found out today (2/6/12) and so sorry. A special person has left this world but as long as you keep her memory alive so will she be alive.
May God comfort you as only he can and give you the grace to face today and the future.
