RAGNHILD GUINN Obituary

Published by Regina Leader-Post on Nov. 27, 2013.
RAGNHILD "REGGIE" GUINN
It is with loving hearts that we announce the passing of Ragnhild "Reggie" Guinn on November 21, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Bert; mother and father; sister Inga; and son Don. Reggie was born in Bergan, Norway on December 13, 1922. At a young age, she travelled by ship with her sister to join their father working in Canada. She grew up in the Orange Benevolent Home in Indian Head, Sask. At 24 she married her Air Force sweetheart, Bert, and together they raised four children. She then worked for Simpson's and The Bay demonstrating Panasonic microwave ovens. She cherished her grandchildren and attended every sports game, school play and concert. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2004, which stole her memories but not her kind, loving spirit. Her own words ring true, "the eyes are the windows to your soul". Certainly a soul as beautiful as hers could not be tarnished by this disease. Reggie is survived by her children, Bob (Linda), Lee Ann (Dean), and Brenda (Richard); seven grandchildren William (Jaclyn), Tyler (Kimber-Leigh), Jamie, Lindsay, Rachel, Taylor and Amber; and niece Karen (Rod). The family thanks the caring staff of Pioneer Village 2W. A service to celebrate Reggie's life will be held in the spring. Bob and Lee Ann - I was so sorry to read about your Mother's passing. I have wonderful memories of babysitting you both when you were children, of trips to Saskatchewan Beach and I still have the wonderful doll clothes that your very talented Mother created for my Eaton's Beauty Doll. My heart goes out to you and your whole family in your time of sorrow. With sincere sympathy,
Karen Kirk, Regina, Saskatchewan

Auntie Lee Ann, Willie, Tyler, Jamie, Brenda and Family:

Whenever I think of Reggie (and Bert), I think of the cabin at Saskatchewan Beach. Those times at the cabin are among my most favourite memories.

Keith, Matthew, and I hope that your memories of her help to ease your grief and bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Love,

Garth & Cindy Walker

Brenda and all your family…I remember Reggie very fondly. So kind, quiet, and gentle. Her smile warmed many hearts. I remember her always as a "lady"- dressing and carrying herself with grace. Thinking of you during this time.
