His life will be forever cherished by those who loved him: his wife of 42 years, Hester R. Dunbar; his two sons Raiford (Tiara) Dunbar III and Richard Lamar (Cydnei) Dunbar; his five sisters: Florence (Henry) Cooper,, Gertrude (Charles) Burton, Rosa Lee Dunbar, Mary D. Brooks, and Georgia Dunbar; two grandchildren, Madison Dunbar and Raiford Dunbar IV, one brother-in-law, Edgar Brown ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and two devoted friends, Mr. Jack Hill and Mr. Reynold Love.
Friends may call the residence or visit JACKSON-BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, 126 Fairfield St, SE, Aiken, SC Tuesday from 3-8 PM. The Augusta Chronicle -- December 12, 2022

My aunt Ann Worrall and I were extremely saddened to hear of Raiford's sudden passing. He was like family around the neighbors on Old Jackson Hwy. I used to tease him with: "Raiford you ole scudder - you've got more money than God, why do you keep working so hard?? He'd laugh and say so he could get my Christmas cookies. I also would reprimand him about his old truck. His argument was that it served him just fine as long as it could go to the "hospital" once in awhile!
