Rajan GILL Obituary
January 22, 1951 - November 29, 2015
With great sadness we announce the untimely passing of Rajan Gill, father, brother, uncle, friend. Rajan will be sadly missed. He is survived by his daughter Yasmine, sister Genise, brother Dinesh, nephew Dillon, and niece Justine. Rajan lived his life to the fullest. He began his career in Vancouver as a teacher; later on he changed paths and spent the next 35 years working for numerous NGOs around the world, often in the most troubled and dangerous of places. A Service will be held in his honour at the Unitarian Church, 949 Oak Street, Vancouver, on January 9 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Save the Children or a charity of your choice.

From Iraq to Afghanistan, visits in DC and France - I will sorely miss Rajan in my life. A larger than life character with a huge heart, wicked sense of humour and unfailing loyalty to his friends. I am blessed to count myself as one of those. RIP big guy and my deepest condolences to the family.

I just heard about this terrible tragedy and want to reach out to the family with my sincere thoughts. Rajan played a huge role in all of my family especially my late brother Brian. He is godfather to my nephew. The world will feel the loss of this incredible person as he had a heart that filled anyone that knew him. My love to his family!!!!

I was deeply saddened to learn of Rajan's passing. As a colleague doing international development in Iraq, I came to appreciate his concern for vulnerable people and his great capacity for generating laughter. My heart goes out to his family in their time of grief.
