I met Cal through FM softball and had an immediate connection as a fellow, teacher, coach and sports enthusiast. I´ll never forget the days shagging fly balls along side him and exchanging stories about the old pro softball days and coaching experiences. We did and share an occasional text once I flew back North and inflate not a liner g the last triggered my suspicions. We visited the Phillies game in Miami a few years back and Cal introduced my sons and me to Micheal, then an analytics guy with the Phillies. My adult son and I enjoyed the trip, especially meeting Micheal of who which Cal was so proud. Good bye to my "larger than life" friend Cal. May you rest in eternity at the right had of the father and I look forward to us meeting again.

I first met Ralph in 1964. We were both trying out for a baseball league in South Boston called the Connie Mack League. I was so impressed with seeing him standing there that I thought he was the coach. We both went on to play baseball in college together; played in the Boston Park League together; taught school in Dorchester together; coached together; and even went into business together (Curves for Women). We shared many happy times together, as well as some not so happy. He was a true friend, and someone who I would say changed the lives of many people. He loved his family, his God, and his country. Knowing him was a gift. He was truly one of a kind, and will be missed dearly.
