Ralph Donald Capps

Ralph Donald Capps, 79, of Wade, MS, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 13, 1935, in Philadelphia, MS to the late Millard Mack "Doc" and Rosa Lee Capps. His father was a Pentecostal preacher. Ralph was a Brick Mason for over 50 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, and he loved his church and his family deeply. He is preceded in death by his parents, also by his sisters, Ethel Adcock, Amy Whitehead, Jean Caperton, and brothers, Buster Capps, Millard Capps, Connard Capps, and Bruce Capps. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Catherine Parker Capps; five children, Connie (Joe) Chapman of Pelahatchie, MS, Mary "Liz" (Don) Cumbest of Wade, , Ralph (Belinda) Capps of Tupelo, MS, Martha (Rev. Steve) Breceda of Atmore, AL, and Philip (Melissa) Capps of Greenville, OH; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. Funeral service will also be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Shirlon Davis, Rev. Louie Davis and Rev. Steve Breceda officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New Home Church Building Fund, 1209 Poarch Rd., Atmore, AL 36502.
