Ralph A. Philbrook, Jr., 76 of Holiday FL, passed away May 22, 2020 at home. Born November 7, 1943 in Chester, MA to Ralph A. Sr. and Ann Philbrook. Ralph was married to Marcia E. Philbrook (Broga) for 46 years until her passing in 2008. He has two sisters Betty, and Helen (deceased) and two brothers Floyd, and Charles. He is survived by his son Ralph A. III and his wife Denise, his granddaughter Brogann and her husband Jason Ferreira, and his grandson Ralph A. IV.

Ralph spent the first half of his adult life working for Chester Municipal Electric Light Department as a lineman and manager. He also was a Constable, deputy sheriff, Police Officer, and Chief of Police. He was an Electrical Inspector for the Town of Chester and several other surrounding towns. Ralph was also a licensed electrician.

Ralph and his family moved to Holiday, Florida in 1982, where he worked as an electrician. He was severely hurt in 1984 and when he returned to work in 1987 he was an Electrical Inspector for Pasco County Building Department. He left Pasco County and went to work for Pinellas County Building Department where he retired as the Chief Electrical Inspector in 2012. In total he worked in electrical inspections over six decades. He was a long time instructor for electrical apprenticeship programs, the last being the Bay Area Electrical Apprenticeship program at Pinellas Technical Education Center where he had taught fourth year apprentices for over ten years.

Ralph had a lifelong passion for hunting and shooting, he was a firearms instructor and enjoyed shooting sporting clays weekly with his friends.

There will be a celebration of life in the fall. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Hernando Pasco Hospice.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Ralph with Pinellas County/Electrical Inspections, and he always made us laugh. He was a sweet soul and an all around good guy. He will be missed.

please accept my deepest sympathy. Ralph was not a good man he was a great man. everything hid did he did with great passion and he was always willing to help either with his vast knowledge of personal assistance. I loved this man as did many others

He was very special to me. He took me under his wing and tried to pass on all the wisdom he had acquired as a police officer. He was kind to me, and also very stern when needed. He was a character and made me laugh. He had a very unique sense of humor. We looked forward seeing each other and spending time together. I will GREATLY miss him.
