Ralph Siegmund Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 10 to Sep. 14, 2022.
Ralph E. Siegmund, 88, of Ellington, formerly of South Windsor, beloved husband of the late Judith E. (Roth) Siegmund, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, at home.

Ralph was born on April 1, 1934, in Canton, Ohio, son of the late Anthony E. and Esther (Blattert) Siegmund. He was a graduate of Massillon High School. He served our country with both the U.S. Army and Navy, for a total of four years. He married the love of his life, Judy on Dec. 27, 1954, and they made their home in South Windsor in the early 1970s. Ralph worked in the insurance industry most of his career. He was a volunteer fireman in Avondale, Ohio and continued his service with the South Windsor Fire Department, where he was honored as a lifetime member. He was an avid UConn women's basketball fan and enjoyed traveling with his wife to several Final Four games. He loved to vacation in Maine at Perkins Cove and Ogunquit. A kind, caring, loving, and devoted man, he will be dearly missed.

He leaves his daughters, Karen Shea of South Windsor, and Kimberly Sheridan and her husband, Peter of Colchester; his brother, Richard A. Siegmund and his wife, Donna of Quinlan, Texas; his grandchildren, David Shea and Amanda Shea and her fiancé, Alex Dube all of South Windsor.

Ralph was a quiet, reserved, and private man who has requested that all funeral services be private at the convenience of his family.
