Ralph P. Zampitella

Ralph Paul Zampitella of Waltham, MA passed away peacefully on February 1, 2021. He leaves his beloved wife Beatrice C. de Sousa Zampitella. He leaves a beloved son Paul A. Zampitella and his cherished grandchildren Jay, Lily, and Christopher of Beverly. He leaves his sister Millie Hovsepian Kane and her children James, Michael, Joseph and Cheryl. He leaves his sister Stephanie Bibbo and her children Karen, Lauren and Frankie. He leaves his sister-in-law Lucy de Sousa Runyon of Belmont, MA and her son Dr. R. Scott Runyon and his wife Emily and their children Eleanor and Jane of St. Louis, MO. Ralph was the son of the late Ralph and Filomena Zampitella formerly of Philadelphia, PA. He was the brother of the late Margaret Zampitella Manning, A. Michael Zampitella and the uncle of the late John M. Hovsepian and Chase M. Runyon. Ralph was most proud of his service as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the Fifth Air Force at Itazuke Air Base in Fukuoka, Japan. He also served with Hq. 8th Fighter Bomber Wing and Hq. Fighter Bomber Wing and Hq. 51st Fighter Intercepter Wing in Suwon, Korea. After returning to the USA he was assigned to the 245th Air Reserve Training Wing as a recruiter in Cincinnati, OH. Ralph was a 15-year regular member of the City of Waltham Zoning Board of Appeals, Chairman of the Salvation Army Board of Advisors, Waltham Corps., past President of the Waltham Rental Housing Association and past President of the Kiwanis Club of Waltham. He worked at the Waltham Building Dept. as a Building and Plumbing Inspector. For 25 years he owned Century 21 Zampitella Real Estate as a broker and certified Real Estate Appraiser. When public wakes are held capacity limits mean that your visit to the venue where they are held should be brief to allow other guests time to say hello to the family. Only members of the immediate family remain present throughout. It goes without saying that people who have lost someone are especially sensitive and understanding to the concerns that some of their own family members and friends may have about visiting any public places right now. If this does not feel like the right time for you to venture out please don't. Space limitations also mean that funeral services inside the funeral home and in many places of worship will also be private. Cemetery services are included in the current outdoor gathering limit of twenty-five people. During any events, public or private, common sense precautions prevail.
