RANDALL RANDY GEORGE DOBRESCU Randy passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at the age of 60 years. He was predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Lorine, and father-in-law Michael Kutcher. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Shirley; daughters Carie Dobrescu and her children Michaela (son Isaiah) and Nakeisha; Suzanne Topal (Will) and their children Jasper and Lola; sons John (Chantelle) and Scott; sisters Jane (Lou) Gubbe and Julie Terry; brother-in-law Michael Kutcher; and mother-in-law Mary Kutcher. Randy was born and raised in Moose Jaw, and made his living as a hardworking third generation dry cleaner and current owner of Regent Park Dry Cleaners. He was very dedicated to his business and his customers, and rarely took a vacation. Randy enjoyed rough-housing and hanging out with his grandchildren; he was lovingly nicknamed Bucky by his granddaughter, Nakeisha, at a very young age and the name stuck for years to come! Randy had two very dedicated and long time friends, Gord and Don, with whom Randy shared a lot of laughter and camaraderie since growing up together in Moose Jaw in the 1950s. Gord and Don were very supportive of Randy throughout his eight month illness, and were always there to provide a spark of humor and laughter. Randy was a member of the Wascana Pistol Club where he spent many Sunday afternoons and made many friends, particularly, good friend Sheldon. Randy also spent many years of camping trips to Clear Lake, barbeques, laughter, good times, and Budweisers with close friends Neil Hunter and Myrna Hunter. Randy was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in January of 2011 and died of complications relating to his illness. The family would like to thank Drs. Chal Chal, Zwai, Buwembo, Koul and Ferguson who provided excellent medical care to Randy over the past 8 months of his illness. Their expertise, and kind and supportive care meant a lot to Randy and his family. At Randy's request, no formal funeral service will be held. However, family and close friends are invited to attend an informal (come and go) Celebration of Randy's Life at the family home on Saturday, September 3, 2011 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. In memory of Randy, donations can be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, #204-3775 Pasqua Street, Regina, SK, S4S 6W8.
