Randall Martin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 23, 2010.
Randall Scott Martin, 51, of Newalla, Oklahoma departed this world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 21 November 2010. Born to Charles and Roberta Martin on 4 January 1959 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He attended Shawnee Schools, graduating in 1977. His professional career began in commercial construction, then on to Tinker AFB working up from an aircraft painter/stripper to a specialist in the parachute and fabric area. In 1995 he began a new career at General Motors, retiring when he became disabled in 2008. Sports and golf filled his pastime until he was forced to hang up his clubs when he became disabled.

He attended Calvary Baptist Church from early childhood, marrying the love of his live Carol (Hall) Lawson, 31 December 1993. He and Carol moved to the Newalla area where they were active at Grace Place Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, until of late. Randy's disability was progressing, preventing many activities and keeping him mostly at home.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Charles Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Martin of the home; Mother, Roberta Martin of Eufaula; Daughter Angela Martin with Ray Cheatham and children, Destiny and Darius, of Shawnee; Daughter, Brandy Martin with Lee Johnson and children, Kamron, Kaleb, and Kali, of Shawnee; Stepdaughter E'Shaina and Aaron Harned with grandchild Hallie, of Nichols Hills; Stepson, Clint Lawson of Oklahoma City, with grandchildren Kaine and Ashley Lawson-Rhodes with great-grandchildren Christian and Scarlett; Sister, Marie with Husband Carey Self, and nieces and nephews, Krissy Viers, Kenny Guffey, Cody Self, and Cori Self; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.

His service will be held at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, in Shawnee, 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 26th with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. For more information please visit our website at www.resthavenfh.com

To my sweet sweet darling husband Randy - we were so wonderfully & richly blessed with such a great love that few ever find. A true love which you kept alive with so many little things, even after all these years. Your little notes of love and encouragement I would find tucked away here and there were always a wonderful surprise - but, are now my great treasures of a love shared. You were not only an incredible husband and a great man of the Lord, but my brother in Christ-you truly were the head of our family and taught me so many things. While I should be joyful knowing that you are now pain free, suffer no more, and are having a glorious time with the Lord in Heaven - losing you has totally broken my heart and ripped me to the very core of my soul. I miss you more than anyone could ever imagine, the pain is almost unbearable and each day without you is a struggle..I really don't know how I will ever make it without you. You were my rock, my protector, my true love and soulmate. I will love you forever and hold to the Lord's promise that I will see you again someday. I anxiously await that day when there's no more tears--when I can run to you, and feel the comfort of your strong arms around me once more. No one could or will ever ever ever take your place.....your loving wife.

We are saddened by your loss, but we really haven't lost Randy. He has just gone home before we have. Randy and I had many great memories from the parachute shop, skydiving, and canoeing the Illinois River with all our friends from the fabric shop. I miss Randy, but it won't be long before we'll be together again. We send our deepest sympathies to all Randy's family.

Marie,
I am so sorry for Randy's loss. I was just thinking of a long time ago when a bunch of girls ran back and forth across the street and Randy wanting us to go away because he didn't want a bunch of girls bothering him. It makes me smile. God Bless you and Roberta.
