TACOMA, Wash. ; Army Sgt. Randi Jean (Blanchard) Miller, 25, of Tacoma, and formerly of Laconia, N.H., and her husband, Staff Sgt. Timothy Miller, died in their home on Sunday, March 2, 2008.

Randi was born March 25, 1982 in Nashua, N.H., the daughter of Robert A. and Shirley J. (Maniatis) Blanchard. She graduated from Laconia High School in 2000 and had been serving as a laboratory technician in the Army for the past eight years. She was currently stationed at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, and was a combat veteran who served in Iraq.

Randi was a scuba diver and an excellent photographer, taking very professional-like pictures. She liked to crochet, listen to rock music and hang out with friends and family.

Randi was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her infant daughter, Kassidy, of Tacoma; her father, Robert Blanchard and his companion, Janet, of Laconia; her mother, Shirley Blanchard and her companion, Don, of Lowell, Mass.; her paternal grandfather, Clarence E. Blanchard Sr., of Hope Sound, Fla. and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Mildred Blanchard, and by her maternal grandparents, Shirley and Arthur Maniatis Sr.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway (Rte. 3), Boscawen, on Friday, March 14, 2008, at noon. The Rev. Dr. Victoria Wood Parrish, pastor of the United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will follow, also in the State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Timothy Miller Gray & Randi Miller Memorial Fund, c/o Wells Fargo, Carson Valley, 1542 U. S. Highway 395N, Gardnerville, Nev. 89410, or any Wells Fargo branch.

Though I did not know Randi, I am sorry for her and her husbands senseless deaths. Their service to our country is greatly appreciated. May God grant their families peace. God bless.
