I think of Rand every time I go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art or Museum of Modern Art. He would have loved the Manet/Degas exhibit.

I am so sorry to just hear this news. Rand and I were friends growing up in nyc in the 70s. Such a kind and sweet person. I went to Hewitt with his sister, June. I was sorry to learn of her passing as well. Rest peacefully my old friends.

Rand had an amazingly easy way with people. I am quite sure that is what led us to become good friends within hours of our first meeting in Bermuda, back in 1982. We shared countless other days and evenings--and after-evenings--in Bermuda and NYC for decades after. It is no hyperbole to say they were literally all good times. Or better, or best, so often finishing with late movies and Stouffer's French Bread Pizzas or Fettucine Alfredo...
I am very deeply saddened we shall not be making any more of those lovely memories, and offer my sincere condolences to his friends and remaining family sharing this loss.
I bid you peace.

We will all miss Rand and the girls coming for visits to our veterinary practice. It has truly been our great pleasure to know and work with Rand and his mother and all of their beloved dogs for over twenty years. Everyone at our practice was devastated to hear the news of Rand´s passing, and together we send our deepest condolences to his friends and family. We will very much miss seeing Rand come in with the girlls, and will always be here for his beloved Jolie, Rascal, and Amalie should they need our care- as they forever will be in our hearts and fond memories.

I remember well the summers I was the Speights Nanny, starting in around 1976 I think.. I loved all the kids but Rand and I definitely bonded the most. He was wise beyond his years and loved to read so we were always talking about books. We used to go to this one steak house in Bermuda ( cannot remember the name) and thats where I remember having lots of discussions about books and the world. I remember too the last time i went into the city and saw his apt and his beloved puppies. I am so glad we did that. I love you Rand and will miss you dearly...
I am so glad that Rand and I reconnected over the last 10 years or so. I would come to the city and we would have lunch and yack about old times...

In my life, I have been fortunate to have many friends. But Rand was truly amongst the closest. My heart aches that he is gone. Rarely a week would pass that we didn't speak. Now I speak to him alone. I will miss you my dear friend. Be at peace and hopefully we will see each other again.
