RANDOLPH SPEIGHT

SPEIGHT--Randolph Lewis II, son of the late Randolph Lewis Speight and the late June Danglade Speight, passed away June 16, 2021. His brother, Craig Speight, and his sister, Junie Speight Myers, predeceased him. Rand is survived by two nephews, Jack Speight and Byron Van de Beek, and a niece, Anne Myers. Rand grew up in Manhattan where he attended the Buckley and Collegiate Schools, followed by studies at Tulane University. He graduated from Hunter College and received a master's in art history from NYU. Rand was an inquisitive, sensitive, perceptive individual with a ready laugh who enjoyed spending time in his beloved Bermuda. He loved animals, history, art (especially contemporary Japanese prints), travel, movies and attending concerts on a regular basis. Although he remained intensely private, he had many friends and delighted in their company. One of his passions was his beloved "girls"... Jolie, Rascal and Amalie who were most fortunate to have their "Dad" fix them special feasts. His love of dogs was what made him the happiest, as reflected in his years of volunteer work at Bideawee, a renowned pet welfare and adoption service. At Bideawee, Rand gave their dogs, and sometimes cats, the attention and love they so desperately needed. Following Rand's wishes, services will be private.
