Fyi, this is not the Randy Boone that was on the Virginian. His name was Clyde Randy Boone, not Randy K. Boone.

We were buddies in high school, but never saw each other after that. I was concerned that his dropping out of college early in his first year was not a good idea, but then was glad for him, that he had a successful career as an actor.

Randy and I were pals in high school, and visited each other at our residencies on occasion. He went to N.C. State college and I went to Wake Forrest university, and we never saw each other again I was the short studious type, and he was the good looking, tall and rangy guitar-lover type. I got an M.D. degree, but, never saw Randy again after high school, but I did see him on t.v. and such and was glad for him for his sucess;hence, he wasn't hurt by his dropping out of College early into his first year.

Randy sat with me and my escort at a place called Magoos in Hollywood calif. He was singing for everyone there. This was before he. Started on the virginian. He was really a very sweet and friendly person. Also a good singer. I still watch the show. He will be very much missed.

I remember many moons ago when I was a kid, and he used to play the drums in church. He was always very friendly and was great at making people laugh.

I enjoyed watching Randy singing with Roberta Shore as the daughter on Shiloh with the Virginian starring James Drury Doug McClure as Trampas and Lee J. Cobb as a Judge. Randy Boone was Cimmeron Strip Stuart Whitman.

Met him once at the finnbars irish club in Coventry england in 1975 he was singing there with a group.i had just came back from Australia he was saying to me how much he would love to go there cause he new how much they loved country and western .
We talked for a while very nice guy only American actor I have ever met.

I met randy while stationed in long Beach CA at the foothill club he wld sit in with the band off n on every once in awhile I wld sing a cple of numbers as well at the time I didn't knw he was on television or movies very down to earth guy as well as al bruno miss those days

I just learned of Mr Randy becoming an angel in 2018. Made my heart sad. Loved him on The Virginian..his NC accent was beautiful and so was his singing. He was a great actor.
