Randy EVRAIRE Obituary
(Retired, Transport Canada 2012)
Peacefully surrounded by his family at his side, on Friday August 9, 2013 at the age of 55, after a courageous battle with cancer. Cherished and beloved husband to Dawn (Seguin), loving father and best friend to Jamie Allan and Kristi (Damien). Proud grandfather to Gunnar. Dear brother to Cheryl (David), Mark, Greg (Cathy) and brother-in- law to Dane and Christine Fader. Predeceased by his parents Ruby and Allan Evraire. Son-in- law of Lulu and Dutch (Herbert) Fader. Randy will be lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and Friends are invited to a Memorial service to celebrate Randy's life which will be held on Saturday, August 24 with a visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel (2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa). Reception to follow. Heartfelt thanks to all of the doctors and nurses for care and support given to Randy. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Cancer Society would be appreciated. Randy was always the guy who never thought twice of giving you a great big hello whenever you saw him. From the day I started working with him at TC back in 1974 he was always a kind hearted fella with a contagious laugh. So sad to hear of his illness and death. Condolences to his wife, Dawn and family. He was a gem! Not to mention a fine softball player too.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Randy's passing. My sincere condolences to the Evraire family. First met Randy on the ball field and even though we had a few adverse moments, we forgot them and whenever I'd see him in the Tower C lobby or outside, he would always bring a smile to my face. Randy was my "office husband" for most of my two decades at Transport Canada. The best memories of him involve going to football games and hanging out with the Evraire clan. I was looking forward to repeating that fun next year, when the CFL returns to Ottawa; it won't be the same without him. Dawn, Kristi, Jamie, family and friends, Randy made us smile and he always will. Big hugs to everyone.

Randy was courageous as he fought this disease. All the while, his family remained the centre of his universe. And now they will be able to take comfort in knowing that they now have a special guardian angel to watch over them.
