Randy Green Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 27, 2022.
Randy Ray Green, 71, of Chattaroy, WA passed away on the evening of October 23rd, 2022 from lung and brain cancer, which he battled fiercely over the past year. Randy wasn't alone when he passed; it was an honor and privilege for his wife Diane, his daughter Carissa and son-in-law Ken, and his son David to hold Randy when he took his last breath on Earth and his first breath in Heaven.

Born in Lewiston, Idaho on July 13, 1951, Randy graduated high school in Royal City, WA in 1970, and continued his trade school education at the Perry Technical Institute in Yakima, WA, with honors in Auto Body Restoration. Randy was Washington State president of the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA).

On October 25th, 1974, Randy married the one and only love of his life, Diane Goodburn Green. Randy and Diane were married for 48 years.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Jack Green and brother David Green. He is survived by his beloved wife Diane, daughter Carissa Green Tambaschi (Ken) of Richmond, Virginia, son David Green (Dawn) of Deer Park, WA, and grandchildren Madison and Kristopher Green and Taylor and Emily Tambaschi. Randy is also survived by his mother Martha Green, brother LD Green, and sisters Cathy Stoltey, Becky Johnston, and Wendy Yearout.

Randy was the owner and president of NW Canopy Structures, a Washington State business that manufactured and constructed gas station canopies, signs and re-images throughout the Pacific Northwest. Randy was a longstanding member of the Western Petroleum Marketing Association (WPMA), the Spokane Home Builders Association, and the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce.

An avid outdoors man, Randy loved fishing, hunting, and playing golf. Having grown up on a farm in Wilbur, WA, he had a deep regard for farming; he loved his horses, cows, chickens, and geese. Randy was a deeply religious man who enjoyed sharing the gospel with others. He liked singing old-time hymns. Randy supported and volunteered at civic events in his community throughout his life. He adored and cherished his family above all.

We wish to extend a special 'thank you' to Dr. Brett Gourley, Dr. Zachary Guss, and their incredible team at Multi-Care Rockwood Cancer & Blood Speciality Center, Horizon Hospice & Palliative Care, and Pastor Shaun Stone of Life Center Church of Spokane for their loving care of Randy.

Per Randy's wishes, calling hours are omitted. A Celebration of Life honoring Randy will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 11am, at Life Center Church at 1202 N. Government Way in Spokane, WA. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Randy Green's memory to Horizon Hospice & Palliative Care (608 E. Holland Ave, Spokane, WA 99218).
