Ray is never far from my thoughts as we continue with our Richland American Legion Honor Guard duties, as we have twice this week. Our veterans are never forgotten, especially for me with Ray. He was a true inspiration to the Schaefferstown community, like a second father to my brothers and sisters, and highly loved and respected. I pass by his old homestead frequently and he is always remembered and never forgotten. God Bless you Ray as you watch down upon us.

My deepest condolences go out to Doris, JoAnn, Ray, & Kitty. Ray was like our second father. We lived next to the Horst family for several years in Schaefferstown, where we all were raised. Ray had the highest respect from our family and from the community. It will be my honor, as part of the Richland American Legion, to represent him for his faithful duty to this country and to our community. And, he will always be remembered as being a great mentor for my brothers and I. May God richly bless him.

To the Horst Family, My sincere condolences to all of you on the loss of your husband & father. I remember him well as he was involved in many activities involving Schaefferstown kids as we were growing up. He never seemed to forget any of us, was always ready to say hello. Celebrate his life, which was well lived.
