Ray Moretti Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 22 to Mar. 23, 2016.
Ray Moretti

Ray Moretti, devoted husband and father, beloved grandfather to seven, passed peacefully into the heavens on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016.

Ray lived to the happy old age of 85, leaving behind his loving wife of 52 years, Roberta "Bobbi" Moretti (Marthey) and his four children, Robb (Jennifer), Andy, Susan (Bobby) and John (Beth). He will be greatly missed by his six grandsons, Sam, Dominic, Roman, Mack, Bobby and Hayden and his one special granddaughter, Lauren (Lulu).

Born and raised in Wooster, Ohio, son of Arcangelo and Rosina Moretti, Ray, along with his nine sisters and two brothers, lived a happy and full life. Dad always said "We didn't have a lot of material things growing up but we had a lot of love!" This personified his family perfectly.

In his early years, Ray loved swimming in the creek, riding horses and scrambling for bathroom time with so many siblings.

After graduating from Wooster High School, he joined the Air Force, then earned his degree at Kent State. In 1963, he met the love of his life Bobbi Ann and married her in February, 1964. Over the next five years, Ray and Bobbi welcomed their four children into their homes in Kent and Cuyahoga Falls, as Ray started his career at Abbott Laboratories, retiring as a sales manager after 30 years.

Ray had a passion for golf, fishing, family and his church. After experiencing a life-changing stroke in 2000, Ray and Bobbi continued to live life to its fullest, traveling all over the world, watching their grandchildren grow up and prosper and spending Sundays laughing over pasta dinners at their home with their family.

Calling hours will be this Wednesday, March 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls. Ray's life will be celebrated on Holy Thursday, March 24th, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls. His body will be laid to rest at Northlawn Cemetery, 4727 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls. All are welcome to come remember and celebrate this beloved man at a luncheon hosted at the IHM Parish Center immediately following the burial. May his soul rest in peace and our hearts be healed, knowing he is with our Lord and Creator.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Summa Foundation, Stroke Support Group, 525 E. Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44304.
