Ray Bowen Newman

I can't beleive it's been a year since we lost you. I miss you so much. I think about you every single day. I'd give anything to give you one more hug and tell you how much I love you.

My grandpa was such an inspiration for me and many others. From players, coaches, family, and to all others the knew him or of him. I remember the summers we had fishing on Lolo Creek, and the man who taught me golf, among many other things. But most of all to be a man, and when life throws you a 61 fly pattern and it's incomplete. Practice, practice, and practice those drills and you will once again become successful. A quote that grandpa used to say was "I'll never give up on a player regardless of his ability as long as he never gives up on himself. In time he will develop." Goodbye Grandpa, I will love and miss you always.

Ray Newman was a kind and gentle man with a big heart . I knew Ray for over 40 years. He was a Grandfather to my two children, Roy Spencer and Lorinda Marie. A great Grandfather to my grandchildren. We will miss you. You will be in my heart and mind always and for ever. Thank you for all the love.

Ray was a wonderful man and will be very much missed.

Our prayers are with Hazel and the Newman family. Ray was always a positive influence with me since our first football days together at Bakersfield College in 1965. He was a friend and mentor and will always be remembered.
