Raymond Brown Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 1, 2024.
Raymond Brown Jr., aged 72, of Richmond, VA, passed away on July 10, 2024. Born on September 27, 1951, Raymond was known for his hardworking nature, infectious laugh, and stylish vibe. Raymond was truly a unique soul.

Raymond attended Thomas Jefferson High School, graduating in the class of 1971. He obtained his Welding certification shortly after and worked as a Welder for over 25 years. As a man who found purpose in work he also worked at various other jobs such as Richmond Times Dispatch and Tysons Chicken. Later on in life he worked as a Maintenance Assistant at the Children's Hospital from July 2019 until his passing. There, he established meaningful relationships with colleagues and friends.

From a young age Raymond accepted Christ and attended the Trinity Baptist Church. His hobbies included painting, fashion, and a deep appreciation for technology and new gadgets. He often surprised loved ones with these gifts. Raymond also had a competitive spirit, enjoying video and card games with his children and grandchildren.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Nyeshia Wall-Murchison and Derika Brown; son, Raymon Williams; sisters, Shirley Brown and Carolyn Brown and brother: Luther Barr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Brown Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Barr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to assist with memorial preparations through Cashapp at $nyeshiawallmurchison . Contributions to help provide food at the service can be made at https://bit.ly/RaymondBrownJr.
