Raymond Bush, Jr. Obituary

Raymond R. Bush, Jr., 93 formally of Collegeville, PA passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Raymond R. and Margaret (Kenney) Bush on August 8, 1930. He attended Roxborough High School where he met the love of his life Mina Wetherell, his wife of 60 years.

Ray served in the Army during the Korean War. After serving in the Army, Ray joined the Philadelphia Fire Department, retiring as a Battalion Chief.

After retiring from the fire department Ray and Mina moved to Collegeville, PA and were members of St. Eleanor's Catholic Church. Ray was a longtime member of Sandy Run Country Club in Flourtown, PA, where enjoyed playing golf and being with friends. When not on the golf course, Ray loved being at the Jersey beach with his family with whom he cherished most in life.

Ray was preceded in death to his wife Mina Bush (nee Wetherell), and survived and missed by his daughters, Deborah (the late Murray) Rindler, Patricia (Gerald) Pino, and Sarah (Randy) Feinberg. He is also survived by his five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

His funeral mass will be held at St. Eleanor's Catholic Church, 647 Locust Street Collegeville, PA on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 11:30 AM. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the church.

Entombment will take place in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospital for Children 3551 North Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19140.

"A soldier has passed away today." You have answered your final alarm. A job well done fellow veteran and Fire Chief. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran and community servant. A Navy Vietnam Veteran.
