Carol and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Buddy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3rd, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in
Vinton. Visitation will be held before the service from 10:00a-11:00a and then after the
service a gathering in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
the ASPCA or St. Jude's Research Hospital. The family would like to thank Heart of
Hospice caregivers Courtney Erbelding, Stephanie Thomas and Rena Gaspard for their

My parents and Dr. & Mrs. Gwen Carlson were supposed to go to a football game in Houston on Saturday, 9/24/1966. I decided to make my entrance into the world that day, so my parents didn't make it to the game. Dr. Carlson, however, delivered me that afternoon and was still able to make the game! My grandmother was a nurse in his office for several years, and my parents bowled with the Carlsons on a bowling league. Such sweet memories of our beloved town doctor that took care of all of Vinton. Love and prayers sent to Mrs. Gwen and the Carlson family

Heaven has welcomed another with a choir of Angels singing praise. Condolences to the entire Family may the hand of God give them strength during this difficult time. May they know that now Dr. Carlson is no longer in pain but up in heaven rejoicing. Their will be many good memories & will surely be missed.
