After his retirement from the U.S. Army, Mr. Farrell worked for the D.C. Department of Corrections, Industries Division, until his retirement in 1991. After this retirement Mr. Farrell did several altruistic pursuits including driving the "Moms Mobile" for Prince William County; a transportation program for high-risk expectant mothers. The family would like to thank Renal Care Partners, Inc., of Woodbridge, for their exceptional skills, dedication and support in Mr. Farrell's six and a half year battle with renal disease.

Services are to be held at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge Va. on what would have been his birthday, November 17, at 11 a.m. Internment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher House Foundation, Inc., 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850-5168, or to the National Kidney Foundation of Virginia, 1742 E. Parham Rd., Richmond, VA, 23228, in the memory of Raymond J. Farrell.

As the Irish would say: "Until we meet again,

May God hold you in the hollow of his hand."

Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home of Woodbridge.

I had the rewarding opportunity to have worked with Ray in the Industries Division of D.C.D.C. He was indeed an artisan and was responsible for the Screen Process Shop having a reputation of being first class, producing quality products.
Nothing seemed too difficult for Ray to produce. He imported his extensive knowledge to his employees and staff alike.
Ray always gave 110% effort as reflected in his military service, his employment at D.C.D.C. and his volunteering efforts during his retirement.
He was a great American, the type which the United States needs more of. We offer our condolences.

I ALWAYS HAD A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH RAY. HE WAS IN INDUSTRYS AND I WAS IN EDUCATION. WE HAD TO CO-ORDINATE THE TIMES HIS MEN COULD ATTEND CLASS.

HE WAS AN OUTSTANDING MAN TO HAVE KNOWN AND WORKED WITH.

MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIS FAMILY BUT REMEMBER -- YOU HAD TO KNOW RAY TO REALLY APPRECIATE THE TYPE OF INDIVIDUAL HE WAS AND KEEP IN YOUR MIND THAT GOD TAKES CARE OF HIS OWN.

My condolences to the family as they celebrate his life. Ray's personality brought a sense of comraderie and levity to a job environment that was itself not the most comfortable. His distinctly Irish humor, the green hair stories etc will ever be remembered.
Until we meet again, Ray!
