Raymond HANOSKI Obituary

Published by Regina Leader-Post from Nov. 10 to Nov. 11, 2017.

HANOSKI, Raymond (Sid)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father Raymond on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. After a lengthy battle with dementia, Dad passed away quietly in his sleep at the age of 87 with his family by his side. He was born, August 8, 1930 in Moose Jaw, SK. Ray was predeceased by his loving wife Irene in 1998 and grandson Ethan Geis in 2000. He will always be remembered by his children, Karen (Terry) Wahl of Regina, SK, children Janine (Trevor), great- grandchildren Jacob and Brandon Hrabia of Chestermere, AB and son Christopher (Kayla) Wahl of Regina, SK, Darrell (Heather) of Deer Valley, SK, family including Quinn (Tanner) of Lumsden, SK Dionn and Erinn Hanoski also of Deer Valley, Bradley (Barbara) and children Chad and Courtney Hanoski of Edmonton, AB, Diane (John) and children, Sadie Geis of Regina, along with Amanda (Mike) and great-grandchildren Azra, Nika and Osias Park of Winnipeg, MB; sons Curtis (Lucy) Bzdel, Dustin Friedt and Joey (Sarah) Friedt, Regina, SK, Ray Jr. (Farida) children Michael and Ira Hanoski of Bakersfield, CA and Carolyn (Glenn) and children, Nicholas and Jessalyn Reinhardt of Okotoks, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Father retired at the age of 62 from City of Regina Parks and Recreation Dept. and always said "I never really retired because, I am busier now than I ever was when
I was working."
Before Dad retired though, he was always interested in keeping active with his family in more ways than one. Father did his best to participate or become involved in ALL of his children's activities. From gymnastics to hockey, from baseball to helping to deliver newspapers, from building hockey rinks in the back yard to fixing or teaching to fix family automobiles, from curling to track and field, from lane bowling to lawn bowling, Dad never missed the opportunity to help or participate in anything that was asked of the young ones. He would be the silent observer and always on your side. Dad will certainly be missed and always lovingly remembered. A CELEBRATION OF RAY'S LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ray may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301, 2550 – 12 Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. Amen

We are so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. Our thoughts & prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. We spent many fun times at your home on Winnipeg Street so many years ago, your Dad & Mom opened their home to all us kids of the neighborhood. I remember Karen you had your drivers licence first & you would pick-up your friends to take us all to Miller High School!
Memories are endless of all the fun times we had!
We lost our Mom this year in March. We know what you are going through, a most very difficult time in our journey of Life!
