RAYMOND FRANCIS HINKLE

Raymond Francis "Ray" Hinkle, 86, of Myersville MD, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Washington County Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 15, 1937 in Frackville, PA, he was the the son of Robert Francis Hinkle and Mabel Sarah Heinly Hinkle. He was the husband of Ruth E. Grossnickle Hinkle for 58 years. They were married April 18, 1965.

Ray is preceded in death by a son, Wayne Eric Hinkle, brothers Robert, Kenneth, George, Bruce, Paul and Wayne Hinkle and a sister, Mabel Yurkonis.

Ray was a graduate of Frackville High School, class of 1954.

He was a member of the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren and a life member of the Myersville Volunteer Fire Company where he served as president for a number of years.

Ray was retired from Doubleday & Co., R&R Tax Service and The Town of Myersville.

In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by his daughter Francene Zeigler (Mike), sons, Dean Hinkle (Shelly) and Mark Hinkle (Heather), grandchildren Kelsey Brandenburg, Aaron Brandenburg and Olivia Zeigler, Sadie, Jack and Levi Hinkle, great-grandchildren, James Stansbury, Gracelyn Yohe, Abigail and Jackson Brandenburg, as well as his sister Anna Filiziani and sisters-in-law Bernice Hinkle and Catherine Hinkle. Ray is also survived by 3 children from his first marriage, Teri, David and Douglas.

Burial will be private with the family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 11:00, at Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, 11301 Meeting House Road, Myersville, MD 21773, officiated by Pastor Leon Yoder.
