Raymond JOYAL Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 16, 2015.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Raymond Joyal on April 11, 2015 at the age of 78. He passed away very peacefully at Tuscany Hospice House in The Villages, Florida surrounded by his beautiful wife and best friend Sandra (née Carroll) and his three children Monique (Paul Seidl), Renée and Paul (Josée Lefebvre). He was very proud of his two grandchildren Alexandre and Karyne, both of whom will miss him very much. He is predeceased by his two sisters Madeleine and Yolande and his two brothers Rolly and Claude. Dad's passion was painting but his life was dedicated to teaching. He worked at many Ottawa area high schools including Sir John A. Macdonald, Champlain, Glebe Collegiate and Commerce. He retired as vice-principal of Canterbury High School where he had begun teaching many years prior. We have many people to thank including Dr. Ramy Ibrahim, Dad's primary doctor who showed him compassion and friendship throughout his illness. To the Joyal and Desaulniers gang, thanks so much for the happiness you brought to Dad's life. A celebration of Raymond's life which was rich with love and happiness will be held at a later to be determined date. Dad ~ Moustache, your canine angel is waiting for you and Banjo is wagging his tail goodbye.

Raymond était notre grand ami à tous, au collège de Rouyn-Noranda. Son départ nous fait de la peine. J'ai offert l'eucharistie à sa mémoire le 30 mai 2015.

Ray was the best uncle ever. Thank you for your phone calls to chear me up when my heart got broken, and going way back, thank you for taking the time to drive me to my figure skating lessons and watching me learn and practice, it meant a lot to me. Family gatherings were so much fun, you had such a good sence of humour. I loved babysitting your little ones, "yes that means my cute little cousins Monique, Renee and Paul". Uncle Ray, you will be missed so much, you were loved so much, now rest in peace with those already in Heaven. My heartfelt sympathies to dear aunt Sandy, cousins Monique, Renee and Paul. We all lost such a wonderful talented kind man. Lets remember the quality good times he shared with everyone he loved so much.

Ray was my boss at Glebe. He had a lot of compassion and kindness when he dealt with the students. As for me, he was very supportive and encouraging. He taught me a lot, and made a great impact on me in my younger years. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Joyal family.
