Raymond MOREL Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 11, 2014.
RAYMOND FRANÇOIS MOREL On Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in his 65th year, the extended Morel family and friends lost a treasured, warm and wonderful man. Ray was the cherished son of Lionel Morel and the late Yvette Morel (Larocque). Ray was preceded in death by his childhood sweetheart, Barb Morel (Reid) and was a beloved and devoted father to their two sons Kelly (Melanie) Morel and Cory (Melynda) Morel. Husband to Sherry Morel (Wadden) and wonderful step-father to Shane Violo. He was also a loving brother to Robert (Shirley) Morel and Wayne (Linda) Morel. Proud Papa to his grandchildren Peyton, Parker and Addison, as well as proud Granpa to Rylan, Kendall, Grayson and Coulson. Ray will be lovingly remembered by nieces Monique (Kara), Nicole (Mark), Stacy (Corey) and nephew Steven (Penny) as well as great-nieces Samantha and Katie and great-nephew Jaiden. Ray will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his loving family and many, many close friends such as Adam Lewis and Griffen Reid. We will all miss his smile and the fun-loving twinkle in his eye. He was known for his silly humour and his musical passions. He was an avid boater, a successful entrepreneur and a committed philanthropist who was generous with both his time and resources. Ray especially loved his family and bringing laughter and joy to all gatherings. Friends may visit on Saturday, January 18th in Sudbury. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church, 1887 Bancroft Drive, at 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life open house memorial service will be held following the service. Friends may visit on Tuesday, January 21st in Toronto. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Westin Prince Hotel (900 York Mills Road, Toronto) between 12 - 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Barb Morel Foundation to be used for student bursaries (www.barbmorel.org) would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home. To light a memorial candle, for flowers, donations and messages of condolence www.lougheed.org

A father, a husband, a son, a brother and uncle, a salesman extradonaire, an entertainer, a friend, and a great person. You will always be remembered for the wonderful smile and engaging personality that captured everyone you met.

Dear Kelly and Melanie,
I was heartbroken to hear of Rays passing. He was always so kind and generous to me and I greatly enjoyed the times I spent in his company. He lit up a room like no other, and his personality was larger than life. A new star shines brightly in heaven... May time heal your pain And wonderful memories light your dark times.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Rays life was a huge loss for all who new him. I met Ray 15 years ago through boating. Ray was always very kind and generous to all of his friends and was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Ray was a great boater and loved playing Karaoke on his boat for all to enjoy. The 2014 boating year will not be the same without you Ray we will miss you immensely.
