RAYMOND MORETTI Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 10 to Jul. 12, 2018.
MORETTI RAYMOND (REMO)

Born in East Carnegie, Pennsylvania, on April 2, 1926, passed away on Sunday, July 8. He was a graduate of Langley High School who proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He attended Duquesne University and then embarked on a real estate career, eventually becoming the owner of R. Moretti Real Estate in Carnegie, which continues today as Moretti Moretti and Fritz. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary, and also by his sisters, Elizabeth Persiani and Erma Caiuzzi; he is survived by his children, Marino, Michael (Deb), Ed (Deb), Lisa, and Thomas; and grandchildren, Matthew Moretti and Meghan Allison; he also is survived by close and supportive nieces, nephews, and in-laws and a wonderful network of friends. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family – birthday parties, holidays, Italian Day at Kennywood Park, and vacations to the Jersey Shore. He was a lifelong resident of Carnegie and was a familiar and friendly face there. Ray touched many lives through his easygoing manner and generous nature. He was a good storyteller and historian, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation is Wednesday, July 11, 6-8 p.m., and Thursday, July 12, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at BAGNATO FUNERAL HOME, 50 Jefferson St., Carnegie, PA. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 330 3rd Ave., Carnegie, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall, 300 Beechwood Avenue, Carnegie, PA 15106, or to the Historical Society of Carnegie, One West Main Street, Carnegie, PA 15106-0826. So sorry for your loss. Such a wonderful man; quick to smile and always willing to help. What an amazing legacy he leaves behind. I have kept the fifty cent pieces that he gave my daughter over the years.

We were fortunate to meet Mr. Moretti at Panera in Greentree. He entertained us many afternoons with his great stories & wonderful sense of humour. What a lovely kind man.

Dearest Mr. M. -- It occurs to me that I can't think of a single time when you did not bring a smile to my face when our paths crossed. Your wonderful children are evidence of what a great dad you were, and I'm sure Mrs. M. is happy to be with you again. Thank you for making this world a better place. Our love and condolences to the Moretti family. Love, Bernadette (Zahn) Landon and family

Raymond was more than just a friend, he was a major part of our family from the day I was born. Never did he see you and not hand you a 'golden dollar coin'. He may have been the golden coin man for many, but he was truly a billion dollar man in my eyes and I loved him dearly. There was never a nicer, kinder or more wonderful man. And now he is with all the 'kids' together in heaven! God Bless you always Compare Raymond.

Ray gave me a lot of advice in the early 80's when I was purchasing the Wegener Estate on Moffat Street. He was a kind soul who definitely knew his stuff. God Bless Ray.
